Jason Mraz Discusses 'Love Is a Four Letter Word'
By Ebonie Smith

Love Is a Four Letter Word is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz. Released on April 13, 2012 through Atlantic Records, the album was a complete success and peaked at #2 on Bilboard's albums charts. Check out this exclusive discussion about the songs on the album. Read some of the highlights from the interview and visit Spotify to listen to the full commentary.

"The Freedom Song"

"Living in the Moment"

"Living in the Moment" is a song that includes all the terminology and the mantras that I will use in my daily life."

"The Woman I Love"

"The Woman I Love" is a song about your significant other forgetting how great they are. And this happens to all of us. We wake up one day and just think that life is shight [sic]. So, it's important for the other partner to love that person back into being the person we know them to be.

"I Won't Give Up"

"I Won't Give Up" was written over a series of Sundays. It became a practice for me--this song in particular--to sit down and just work something [a song] out.

"Everything is Sound"

Music is probably going to be the closest we ever get to agreeing on what God is. Music is our weapon in the war against unhappiness. Music is how we can easily work together to create harmony. So "Everything is Sound"…is a way to just celebrate sound and celebrate our lives though music.

"93 Million Miles"

My friend Michael always says…"Wow! Look at that thing up there, that furnace burning 93 million miles away...all that light travels to us, and by the time it gets to us, it's just right." I love that idea.

"Frank D. Fixer"

[The expression] "Frank D. Fixer" was a sign on my granddad's workshop. His name was Frank Marz, but he cleverly made this sign that said "Frank D. Fixer" because he was a junk man. He fixed people's tractors and farm equipment...
