Enter the command alt + J on a Mac computer and you'll get a ∆ delta symbol – a symbol in mathematical equations used to show change or difference – and a term that perfectly summarizes alt-J’s incomparable sound.

Band members Gus, Joe and Thom met at Leeds University where their combined influences gave birth to the band’s unique blend of folk, electronica, blues, and hip hop infused rock.

Following up alt-J’s album An Awesome Wave was certainly no small feat. The band’s debut won the prestigious 2012 British Barclaycard Mercury Prize, the Ivor Novello Awards’ “Album of the Year”, and earned the band nominations for three Brit Awards for “Breakthrough Act”, “British Album of the Year”, and “British Group of the Year” catapulting the band into the international spotlight.

alt-J soundly crushed any fear about the band’s ability to overcome the dreaded sophomore slump when they dropped lead singles “Left Hand Free”, “Hunger of the Pine”, and “Every Other Freckle” from their new album This Is All Yours. Check out the epic official videos for “Hunger Of The Pine”, “Left Hand Free”, and both girl and boy versions of “Every Other Freckle”!

The all at once beautiful, quirky, and infectious This Is All Yours is available in stores and online now! Click here to download your copy of This Is All Yours on iTunes or click here to start streaming now on Spotify!
