SIMPLE PLAN: Simple Plan Benefit Show

Hey guys, the Simple Plan Foundation is hosting its second benefit show in Montreal at the Metropolis September 24th!

The evening will begin with a cocktail and an auction, that will offer guests the opportunity to meet the band in intimate surroundings. Afterwards, Simple Plan will perform a concert. You may purchase tickets for $125 per person. You may also become a privileged partner or sponsor.

Simple Plan wants to hear how cancer has affected you or someone in your life. Inspired by Pierre's brother Jay's diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 28, cancer awareness has become an initiative of the Simple Plan Foundation. The new single, 'Save You' was written as a tribute to Jay, and all proceeds from the digital download of the song will be distributed to cancer charities worldwide. Watch Save You over at MTV.

Simple Plan is proud to present their brand new video for the song "Save You".

"Save You" was penned in tribute to lead singer Pierre Bouvier’s brother Jay, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer at the age of 28. Thankfully now in remission, Bouvier’s illness inspired the band to include cancer awareness as one of the initiatives of the Simple Plan Foundation. Thus far, the Foundation has donated over $100,000 to various charitable organizations around Canada and has raised over another $200,000 at various benefit events.

After a very tight connection, a marathon sprint and after almost missing their flight, the guys arrived in Madrid this morning. A little over 2 years ago, Simple Plan started "The Simple Plan Foundation", to raise money and give back to those in need. Last week, at a press conference in Montreal, the foundation announced their first donations, totaling over $100,000. The guys also announced their first fund raising event, a benefit acoustic concert, as well as a brunch, this coming august.

Yesterday was a day off in Geneva and since we were all Jetlagged, everyone was up suuper early. We decided to have a Sebastien birthday celebration day and a couple of the guys rented bikes, randomly found an open-to-the public wine tasting, fed ducks and rode bikes all through Geneva. A few months ago, the day the record came out, the guys were in NYC on route to an autograph signing when unfortunately, due to a bad snow storm, they had to cancel.

Well its been on their minds this whole time and they have finally found the opportunity to make up for it. SIMPLE PLAN: EUROPEAN TOUR DRIVES OUT OF SCANDINAVIA, INTO GERMANY

The tour is now going along in full force after the tour starters in Finland and Sweden. The guys played Copenhagen and Amsterdam and today, the trek is in Germany for the first of a few shows here. It’s been rainy for a few days so that kind of sucks, but hey it’s better than snow. For the first few shows, a really cool band called Elliot Minor has been opening for the guys and not only are they a great band, they are great guys as well so you should check ‘em out for sure. Tonight, our fellow Canadian friend Justin Nozuka is also joining the tour, so should be fun… The backstage area is getting cramped!

SIMPLE PLAN: FIRST DAY OFF: HOCKEY IN STOCKHOLM

I know, I know: It seems silly to already have a day off after only one show but geography had it’s word in this decision and since the truck with all the band gear had to make it all the way here, the boys had no choice but to be off.

Our friend Jenny at Warner Sweden knows how much Chuck likes hockey, so she organized some ice time and as soon as we hit Sweden, Chuck already had his skates on. The Captain of Chuck’s team, yours truly, brought an element of toughness to the lineup and I think it’s safe to say that we had a great time. Tomorrow night, the boys will play in Stockholm, but this time Chuck will be on his drums.

Speaking of hockey, our home team The Montreal Canadiens clinched a playoff spot this week, so this video goes out to them with Chuck showing them what kind of moves they will need to make it to the Cup. Congrats to the team, Go Habs Go! Next up is our friend Jose’s team, the Colorado Avalanche, to get a spot. They are fighting a very tough battle in the west where the standings have never been so tight. Good for them that they can count on the best goal keeper to make sure that they make it to the top. This is going to be an exciting spring! Go Avs.

SIMPLE PLAN: SP HEADED TO FINLAND FOR START OF EUROPEAN TREK

Promo trip after promo trip, the boys have almost been around the world since the new album’s release, but things are just now about to get serious.

The boys are traveling to Helsinki, Finland to start a 5 week cross continent European tour, where they will hit pretty much everywhere, from Amsterdam to ZÃ¼rich. With the first show this Thursday, March 27th and the tour wrapping up in Prague at the end of April, you can be sure that there will be lots of news, videos and hopefully many shenaniggans to talk about during this stint.
