Juvenile will kick off Bayfest Hawaii 2006 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay on the island of Oahu this Friday, June 30th. He will headline the festival’s opening night, performing on the main stage at 9:15 p.m. The annual event, sponsored by Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, Ohana Hotels & Resorts, Hot 93.9 FM and KHVH News Radio 830 AM, will run from June 30th through July 4th and is open to both Marine  personnel and the public. Other Bayfest Hawaii 2006 performers include Atlantic label mates Staind as well as Chris Cagle, Molly Hatchet, Trick Pony, and .38 Special.

From Hawaii, Juvenile will travel to South Korea for a handful of performances at United States Army Bases including Camp Casey, Yongsan Garrison, Camp Walker, Camp Red Cloud, and Camp Humphreys (see attached itinerary). Rap group YoungBloodZ will join Juvenile on four of the dates. The performances are all free events for Army personnel and ID holders only. South Korea has served as a major port for U.S. soldiers departing to and returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"REALITY CHECK" is Juvenile's first album to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and his fourth album to rank in the top ten. The collection also premiered at #1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, marking his second album to debut at #1 on the chart (following THA G CODE in 2000), and his fifth to hit the top five. REALITY CHECK features the urban radio smash hits "Rodeo” and “Way I Be Leanin’.” His seventh solo album, REALITY CHECK marks the multi-platinum hip-hop star's first album through a long-term worldwide deal he and his UTP label inked with Atlantic Records in 2004.

The #1 debut of REALITY CHECK marked a personal triumph for Juvenile on several fronts. His most fully realized musical expression to date, it not only marks his first album for Atlantic and his first-ever #1 on the Billboard 200, but it also marks his first album to be released since Hurricane Katrina devastated his native New Orleans last August. The foremost voice on his city's hip-hop scene, Juvenile was not home when the storm hit, but his house on Lake Pontchartrain was destroyed and he lost all of his possessions. Work on the album was delayed, while Juvenile joined the movement by the music community to support relief efforts. He subsequently wrote several new tracks for the album whose lyrics directly address the impact of Katrina.

James Blunt's RIAA platinum BACK TO BEDLAM reaches its highest point to date with its #2 ranking on the Billboard 200, leaping seven spots this week. Released in the U.S. October 2005, the album is now in its 23rd week on the charts and its fifth week in the top ten. Last week, James scored another career milestone, when 'You're Beautiful,' the smash first single from 'BACK TO BEDLAM,' hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. He also became the first British artist to top the U.S. singles chart since Elton John reached #1 with 'Candle In The Wind' in 1997. 

James' sales explosion this week, with many retailers noting sales of double or triple last week's tally, was spurred by his moving appearance last week on The Oprah Winfrey Show. James kicked off his first full-fledged headlining North American tour on Monday, March 13th. Cop Juvenile's new album REALITY CHECK featuring 'Rodeo,' 'Get Ya Hustle On' and 'Whats Happenin' in stores everywhere March 7th! It's UTP baby!

A New Orleans native and the foremost voice on the city's hip-hop scene, Juvenile's own home was destroyed by Katrina. Through this moving video, he is now speaking out on behalf of those disenfranchised New Orleans citizens whose voices are not being heard. Directed by Ben Mor, the storyline revolves around three children who find three masks in the midst of the city's rubble - with the words 'Help Is Coming' on one side and the faces of President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Mayor Ray Nagin on the other. The video is introduced with the following words: 'This is a tribute to those who died in the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. The storm may have passed, but for thousands the struggle is just beginning.'

Juvenile's first album for UTP/Atlantic, REALITY CHECK will be released on March 7th.

'Our city of New Orleans and several other surrounding cities are experiencing total devastation,' said Juvenile. 'People have lost their loved ones, their homes, their belongings, and their jobs. Many of our folks in New Orleans didn't have much to begin with and now they have now lost everything. Everyone has to pull together to help all those who have suffered these great losses.

'We as Americans were so responsive to the world in the face of the tsunami, and we have sent our troops and our money to Iraq and Afghanistan,' Juvenile continued. 'So I am sure that we, as individuals and as a country, can apply to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida the massive level of effort and giving which is surely demanded now. Please keep our city, its people, and our families in your prayers and donate whatever you can to the Red Cross.'

Teruis Gray, aka Juvenile, was not in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit. His home was located near the water on Lake Pontchartrain, in St. Tammany Parish in the city of Slidell. New Orleans' neighbor to the east, Slidell was crossed by the eye of the hurricane, and Juvenile lost his house and all of his possessions. The multi-platinum rapper grew up in the Magnolia Projects in the center of New Orleans, and he has always been a New Orleans resident. His parents also live in New Orleans, and he has over 200 relatives in the area.  The locations of many of his family members are still unknown, and only about half of them were able to get out before the hurricane arrived. Many of his friends also have still to locate family members.
