Icona Pop's "I Love It" Goes Double Platinum

As Icona Pop neared the end of their first US headlining tour, the Swedish duo had no idea what surprises would be in store for them at their first New York City date. Caroline and Aino took the stage in matching inverse outfits as fans cheered and screamed with excitement as the first song "We Got The World" started. The venue was literally shaking as the crowded dancing along to the song. The girls even took a moment to share the fact they had never felt that level of excitement before that night. Though they were days away from the release of their debut album, “This is… Icona Pop”, their fans enthusiastically sang along to eachsong especially as their latest single, “All Night” started up.

After “All Night” the duo exited the stage and suddenly the illustrious Perez Hilton appeared on stage. An early fan of Icona Pop, Perez gave a speech celebrating the career of the two iconic musicians and asked for them to come back on stage. Appearing from the side of the stage the girls seemed shock and overwhelmed as Perez then presented them with double platinum plaques congratulating them for over two million in sales for their hit “I Love It (feat. Charli XCX).” Caroline and Aino then took a moment to hug each other and stare at their plaques, turning to the audience they thanked everyone who ever listened to their music for helping them get to where they are today. Despite their humble and overwhelmed demeanor the girls then closed the show with a powerhouse rendition of “I Love It” as they jumped into the crowd and sang along with their fans.
