Girl Power: Charli XCX and Kitten Rock Out
By Michelle Salgado

Not since the 90s has girl power shown its face so fiercely. Charli XCX and Kitten brought it full force on a crisp November evening in NYC at Irving Plaza. The girls hosted a 90s themed dance party before playing to a sold out crowd.

Charli's best friend, Emmie Lichtenberg, was the host and DJ for the event and got the crowd going with a medley of 90s hit songs and free candy. Fans danced and partied as they waited for the show to start, after the first act finished fans eagerly anticipated Kitten's performance. Once they took stage we found out why...

For someone so young, Kitten's lead singer Chloe Chaidez is a powerhouse of energy and incredible vocals. Kitten easily proved why they're one of the most talked about bands in the industry right now. Chloe jumped into the crowd as the set wrapped up and posed for pictures with fans while still singing, delighting one shocked fan with a kiss.

With a performance as intensely energetic as that it was hard to believe that there was still more to come - but Charli proved us wrong. Fans erupted in cheers and screams as Emmie introduced her best friend. The audience knew they were in for a treat as Charli strut out on stage in her 5-inch sneaker platforms. She played a mix off songs off her album "True Romance" including "Superlove", "You" and "Take My Hand." But it was the encore that left fans screaming for more.

Charli brought back Kitten's Chloe on stage and the two performed a fantastic cover of "I Want Candy".  Chloe also shredded her way through the song on her guitar as both girls sang their hearts out. Even after the show finished fans were still amped for more and stayed dancing under the venue's giant disco ball until security asked them to leave.
