Rob Thomas and Jewel have unveiled plans to team up for what is sure be the hottest ticket of the summer. The major North American trek will see the two multi-platinum superstars sharing concert stages from coast-to-coast. The seven-week itinerary is slated to kick off on May 23rd at Clearwater, Florida's Ruth Eckerd Hall.
Grammy winner Rob Thomas' debut solo album, ...SOMETHING TO BE, is now in its 50th week on the Billboard 200. The #1-charting set includes the hit singles "Lonely No More," "This Is How A Heart Breaks," and "Ever The Same." Jewel's eagerly awaited new album, GOODBYE ALICE IN WONDERLAND, will be released on May 2nd. Her first collection in three years, it features the lead-off hit single, "Again And Again."
Both Thomas and Jewel are celebrating a decade of recording milestones. Jewel made her debut with the February 1995 release of PIECES OF YOU, which had just passed the platinum mark when Thomas' matchbox twenty released their first album, YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU, in September 1996. In October 1999, both albums simultaneously earned the RIAA's prestigious Diamond Award for U.S. sales in excess of 10 million units, and both have gone on be certified 12-times platinum.
Opening for Rob and Jewel on the entire tour will be Toby Lightman. A fellow labelmate, Lightman will release her second album, BIRD ON A WIRE on July 25th.
