TRANS-SIBERIAN READY TO ROCK THE HOLIDAYS

09.20.05

The hottest ticket for the Christmas Season is the coolest show this winter. Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), one of rock music's most exhilarating live bands, returns for a massive North American holiday concert tour that will hit more than 80 cities through the end of December. Their critically acclaimed tour kicks off on Sunday, November 6th, and is expected to surpass last year's tour in ticket sales. With one dollar from every ticket sold going to local charities and a projected attendance of over 650,000 people, TSO will once again be giving over half a million dollars to charity.

Established in 1996 by producer/composer/lyricist Paul O'Neill, who immediately brought on longtime writing partners Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has crafted inspirational music and delivered compelling live performances that have attracted fans from the ages of 7 to 70.

'TSO is a dream band to work for,' says William Morris' Marc Geiger. 'They work hard, their audience grows every year and spans at least 3 generations. People feel great after they walk out of their show and they invest in their production and take the word 'show' to a rock and roll pinnacle!'

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert tours have grown rapidly from year to year, playing live to over 1.5 million people and grossing over $50 million. Seeking to further accommodate the demand from around the country, TSO will once again morph into two bands which are scheduled to play over 80 dates this winter. The group's 2004 holiday tour was #7 in overall top grossing concerts and #2 in attendance, (Billboard Magazine) making TSO one of the Top Live Concerts in the United States. With their cutting edge production and musical vision, TSO has become a holiday essential amongst music lovers.

The group has released three critically lauded albums as well as a DVD/Video, 'The Ghosts of Christmas Eve.' Their 1996 debut release, CHRISTMAS EVE & OTHER STORIES, which in 2004 remained at #1 in the Top Catalog Chart for two straight weeks according to Billboard, is best known for producing the smash hit 'Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24' which is still a staple at radio during the holiday season. It has since been Certified Double Platinum and is annually one of the Top 5 Holiday Records in the U.S. Two years later the band continued its success with another radio hit 'Christmas Canon' which was showcased on the 1998 platinum selling album, The Christmas Attic. In 2004 Trans-Siberian Orchestra released The Lost Christmas Eve, which was Certified Gold in just 5 weeks. Each Christmas record is annually a Top Ten best selling holiday record as well as a Top Ten best selling catalog record in the United States (Billboard Magazine).

On the heels of last year's album, which went gold in five weeks, this winter's tour is promised to outshine all the rest. The group's exhilarating brand of rock is sure to further reaffirm their place as an American holiday tradition.
