TREY SONGZ & DRAKE CONTEMPLATE JOINT ALBUM

10.12.09

Recently, Trey was asked about whether plans of a joint album between Drake and himself was in their future. “That’s my homie, man. Making music with him is like two kids getting together to play basketball. It’s gon’ happen,” Trey said about Drake. “We have fun making music and our working relationship has furthered into a friendship.”

The “Successful” stars first met four years ago before Drake’s career took off. “He wanted me on a record entitled ‘Replacement Girl’ and once that record was done, I made consecutive trips to [Drake's hometown] Toronto. I hit him up like, ‘Yo, come holla at me.’”

When asked whether their frequent collaborations could lead to a full album, Trey revealed that the idea has crossed their minds. “We’ll have to see. That’s crazy. We always talked about that when we first got on,” he shared. “We enjoy making music and we sit back and laugh about a lot of things—life. Look forward to seeing more music from us. I think we’ll make music together as long as we’re both making music.”
